Do you have what it takes? And more importantly do you know who you're fighting for? This Cobra Special Forces teaser billboard is the first salvo in the viral marketing campaign for G.I. Joe: Retaliation, the sequel to 2009's big screen Hasbro toy franchise adaptation.
Originally planned for release last year, it appears reshoots were needed to accommodate more of Channing Tatum's 'Duke' (originally killed off early in the film in the first cut), who had a pretty spectacular year at the box office in 2012 with hits like the 21 Jump Street remake, Magic Mike and The Vow. Plus it also allowed time to convert the movie to 3D.
This teaser billboard was snapped along Sunset Boulevard on February 4, 2013, no doubt with plans for more billboards to follow showcasing the new cast, which include action-hero staples Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson.
At the end of the first film, audiences were left with the knowledge that Cobra's operative 'Zartan' had infiltrated the White House and impersonated the American President (played by Jonathan Pryce), now it looks like it's time for some G.I. Joe payback.

UPDATED: Just as Daily Billboard anticipated here's a new creative for G.I. Joe: Retaliation featuring Dwayne Johnson as 'Roadblock' spied in the same location along L.A.'s Sunset Strip on February 20, 2013.
