After the recent black and white stylings of
Frankenweenie (which was always going to have a niche appeal),
Disney is back with a much more colourful collection of billboards for its new computer-animated movie
Wreck-It Ralph.

Hoping to appeal to a wider audience (especially to boys with its video game premise), the film also has the extra hook of featuring some nostalgic childhood favourites for older gamers to recognize, like
Q*bert,
Pac-Man ghosts and characters from
Sonic the Hedgehog to name but a few.

With not a
Disney Princess in sight,
Wreck-It Ralph revolves around a video game character who is tired of being the bad guy, so he sets off on a journey across the arcade via several generations of video games to prove that he can be a hero.

Disney is certainly going all out to make sure everyone in
L.A. sees their new offering, from special extension billboards, multiple creatives and even giant-sized billboards that really have an impact along the cluttered skies of the
Sunset Strip.

Here's also a pixelated character teaser billboard which appeared back in July 2012 above
Disney's El Capitan Theatre along
Hollywood Boulevard.

It certainly sounds like it will be a fun movie and something original for a change, and
Daily Billboard is sure the studio is hoping it will capture audiences imagination like the classic toys and games in
Toy Story did.

These eye-catching billboards were snapped along
Beverly Boulevard, Sunset Boulevard and
Fountain Avenue in mid-October 2012.

Only time will tell if
Wreck-It Ralph can smash the box office this November, in the meantime if you're a gamer be sure to check out these modern day video game billboards here at
Daily Billboard.
UPDATED: Well it looks like
Wreck-It Ralph had a strong debut at the box office on opening weekend.

To celebrate here's another giant-sized billboard for the movie, featuring the pixelated
Ralph creative, spotted along
Wilshire Boulevard in
Westwood on November 4, 2012.

Plus this smaller billboard was snapped over the
El Capitan Theatre along
Hollywood Boulevard on November 14, 2012.
